Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), world-renowned as the ‘No.1 Hospitality Design Firm’ has designed Trump Tower Mumbai typical floor, ground floor lobby, and its exclusive amenities. We invited them to share their experience working on this development.
Lodha Group and my Association go back nearly 12 years. With over 20 projects of various scales and sizes, Lodha Group has been a key partner and collaborator for us in India. Our first project together was the Lodha Belmondo Show residence and Clubhouse that turned out beautifully and was very well received by Lodha and its customers. The collaboration with Lodha Park happened many years later and that too has been a fruitful and deep experience.
The Trump Tower Mumbai is one of our most visible projects. We first did the Show residence around 5 years back and followed it with designing the entrance lobby – which opened mid last year. We continue to work on the other common areas for this project. We approach each design keeping in mind the needs of the end users. For us, if this parameter is not accurately addressed then we have not succeeded as designers. In doing so, we follow an elaborate brand immersion process to understand what the brand stands for and what it promises to deliver to its customers. We did extensive research on the customer profile as well, looking into their possible choices and lifestyles. This became the building blocks for our design. We consulted and worked together with the Trump and Lodha teams to manage the designs to ensure that they embody the brand. My team and I continue to have the most amazing experience working on this project.
For us, designs need to do two things. First and most important, allow the end user to live in them with utmost ease and secondly, the designs must tell a story of the location that they are in. The common areas at Trump Tower Mumbai articulate both of these rather well. The program of the common areas is highly comprehensive and well thought through.
The residential and intimate scale of everything. It's luxurious and yet at a scale that a human can relate to and come back to use, time and again.
I find the Preciosa lights in the ceiling absolutely stunning. The original pieces of furniture and custom designed and created rugs add a sense of luxurious charm to the lobbies.
